Broadcast Electronics Certified Contractor09 Apr
Olen Booth, Chief Engineer for Innovative Broadcast Services (IBS) and software developer for IntrinsicNet attends “Certified Contractor” orientation and training at BE in Quincy, Illinois.
Broadcast Electronics (BE) has initiated a program for a very select group of broadcast engineers to become Certified Contractors for field service work. In addition to their BE Authorized Contractor program benefits and responsibilities, these Certified Contractors receive specialized training (also SBE accredited) to enable them to represent BE in the field. IBS, along with a few other companies were represented in Quincy, IL, March 30 – April 2, 2009.
According to published materials regarding their contractor programs, BE states:
“BE is now assembling a team of the nation’s most qualified, service contractors to work with us in creating the most innovative national service network in the radio industry. (Contractors) have been selected for this program because of (their) experience and knowledge in the industry.”
IBS is an engineering services company, and not a re-seller of equipment. Therefore, IBS will continue to advise clients to purchase equipment that is best suited for their application from reputable vendors and manufacturers. IBS has recommended BE products, as well as other reputable products, for over 25 years, and will continue to remain neutral in equipment recommendations.

The great people at BE should be commended for hosting this informative, professional opportunity for the engineers that were invited to participate. A special thank you is in order for Brent Whelan, Director of Technical Service and Doug Koehn, RF Product Manager.
